A native of southern Minnesota, Chris is a business attorney representing individuals, governments, non-profits, LLCs, and partnerships and corporations in matters related to entity formation, bankruptcy, corporate law, business litigation, real estate, education, and general business law.

Chris also provides counsel to debtors, creditors, and Chapter 7 trustees in all matters related to bankruptcy law, including Chapter 7, 11, 12, and 13 bankruptcy petitions, creditors’ remedies, out-of-court workouts, and related bankruptcy litigation such as preferential and fraudulent transfer litigation.

Chris is published in a law review writing on issues regarding federal and state statutory interpretation, constitutional law, and immigration law. 

Prior to joining Dunlap & Seeger, Chris worked as a law clerk in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Corps at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point where he worked on matters involving criminal prosecution, contracts, civil litigation, and copyright law.

At the University of St. Thomas School of Law, Chris was the editor-in-chief of Fides et Iustitia (faith and justice), the school's flagship law review. He was a director of the school's Public Service Board, Minnesota Justice Foundation, and the founder and president of the Saint Thomas More Society. With more than 400 public service hours, he ranked top of his class in volunteerism, and also received the law school's Living the Mission Award.

Chris was raised on a farm in southern Minnesota where his family’s previous four generations lived and farmed.  He is an active member at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Rochester and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  He is also an attorney mentor to law students and serves on the University of St. Thomas School of Law Alumni Association Board, where he acts as chair of the Annual Fund Committee.  Chris is on the board of the United Way of Olmsted County and a trustee for the Law Library of Olmsted County.
