Brenda’s passion for legal work has always been client-centered as she values helping people through what is often the most difficult time in their lives. When she takes on a case, she is ready to advocate for her clients and provide them with her guidance and expertise. Her compassion helps her understand her clients’ needs while her experience in various practice areas helps her provide comprehensive support. Brenda has been a part of the litigation department at Dunlap Seeger since she relocated to Rochester from Connecticut. She is focused in the areas of family law and landlord/tenant law while also serving the firm as a general practice attorney. Her family law practice includes divorce, parenting time, custody disputes, child support issues and adoptions. She is skilled in guiding clients through both alternative dispute resolution and litigation.
Brenda is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law where she received her Juris Doctor with the Cali Excellence Award for Trial Advocacy. She is also a Dean’s List graduate of Florida International University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations with minors in geography and philosophy. Brenda has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star and recognized by the National Trial Lawyers Association Top 40 under 40. She was also featured in the Connecticut Law Tribune as a New Leader in the Law. Brenda serves on the City of Rochester Ethical Practice Board and the board for Bear Creek Services. She is also a member of the Art4Trails Committee and has volunteered with Paws & Claws Rescue and Boys and Girls Club of Rochester.
Brenda is fluent in Spanish and speaks some Portuguese. In her spare time, Brenda enjoys cooking, reading, playing board games, hiking and spending time with her husband, daughter and two dogs.
