Doug is an experienced trial lawyer, having tried cases since 1983.  He has represented people making claims
and people defending against claims.  Doug’s caseload typically includes personal injuries, farm claims, land disputes, and house property claims.

Since childhood Doug has always participated in competitive events.  Doug played football and basketball throughout high school and college.  His team won the Minnesota high school basketball Championship in basketball and he was the captain of both his college football and basketball teams.  In 1993 Doug was inducted into the Concordia College Athletic Hall of Fame.  Doug’s history as an accomplished athlete forms the bases for his competitive and strategic representation of clients.

Doug believes attorneys and clients should agree on the ultimate goal for each case and work together toward that goal.  He evaluates each case with his client’s goals in mind and communicates clearly with the client regarding strategy and progress.  Clients trust Doug to provide an honest evaluation.

In addition to serving as an advocate for his clients, Doug volunteers with local organizations.  He has served as either President of the Board of Directors, or committee Chairperson of Possibilities, Bethel Lutheran Church, Samaritan Bethany, Greater Rochester Advocates for Universities and Colleges, and Olmsted County History Center.  Doug also coached the traveling youth basketball teams for all three of his children.
