Third party can sue for retaliation under discrimination law

Title VII of the 1964 U.S. Civil Rights Act prohibits an employer from discriminating against its workers because of race, color, religion, sex and national origin. An employers may not retaliate against an employee who charges their employer with discrimination under Title VII or if an employer takes actions that would dissuade a reasonable worker from making discrimination charges under this law.

Can a seller control Minnesota real estate after it is sold?

Use of commercial real estate in Minnesota may be governed by a zoning laws, law use ordinances and other legal restrictions that restrict the use of the property. Through contract, however, the seller of the real estate can control its use, even after the property is sold.

Minneapolis East side shows real estate turnaround

Minnesota excluded its east side comprised of the Mill District to the north, Elliot Park to the southeast and the deserted area in-between from development. A turnaround was anticipated after the Minnesota Vikings and state legislators agreed to demolish the Metrodome and build a new football stadium in 2012.

SEC aids small business investment with new rules

The Securities and Exchange Commission adopted new rules which are intended to improve small business startups by providing access to capital and more choices to investors. The regulations are required under the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act and update Regulation A, the current registration exemption for small issuers of securities.
