Gov. Tim Walz Modifies and Extends Stay-at-Home Directive

Today Governor Walz issued Executive Order 20-33 modifying Executive Order 20-20‘s stay-at-home directive and extending it to May 3, 2020, at 11:59 p.m.

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development’s Summary of Critical Sector Modifications and List of Descriptions of Critical Sector Workers provide guidance on workers exempt from the stay-at-home directive.

Gov. Walz directed “the Commissioners of Health, Employment and Economic Development, and Labor and Industry to begin planning on how to allow certain non-Critical Sector workers to return to work when it is safe to do so.” He also directed “all state agencies to continue to coordinate expeditiously to develop plans to mitigate the economic effects of closures and restrictions.”

Information to help critical sector workers respond to child care needs can be found at Minnesota Department of Management and Budget’s Information for Families: Responding to COVID-19 – CHILD CARE FOR CRITICAL SECTORS.
